Description

The Velora is a 150mm spherical wall light cut from a solid block of light beige travertine, mounted flush against the wall so the orb appears to emerge from the surface. An integrated 3000K LED sits behind the sphere and casts a warm halo around its perimeter, leaving the front face of the stone in soft shadow while the surrounding wall takes the direct wash of light.

The travertine itself shows the natural pitting, mineral veining and tonal variation that the stone is known for, with each piece differing slightly in surface pattern and pore distribution. At 150mm in diameter the Velora reads as a compact sculptural element rather than a dominant fitting, suiting hallways, bedside walls, living room recesses and stair landings where a small backlit feature works better than a projecting wall lamp.

The backlit halo configuration produces ambient light rather than directed task light, so the Velora is best paired with other layered sources in a room rather than used as a sole light. Installed singly it works as a quiet wall accent, while a vertical pair flanking a bed or a horizontal run along a corridor builds rhythm and repetition. The 230V mains-wired LED is hardwired into a standard wall back box, with the sphere fixed to a concealed bracket behind.
