The Varvessa Floor Lamp is a tall steel floor lamp in a bronze finish, built around a slim upright that bends over at the top into a short arm. From the end of that arm hangs a tapered cage shade made of narrow metal strips, so the bulb sits inside an open frame rather than behind a solid shade. It stands 170cm tall and measures 37cm long and 28cm wide, on a round base 23cm in diameter. It takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W, and the IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

This is a lamp for the living room, a snug or a quiet corner beside a sofa or armchair, where the overhanging arm brings the shade forward of the stem and closer to where you sit. It suits anyone who wants light at standing height without giving up space on a side table, and the compact base keeps the footprint small enough for a tight corner or the gap beside a bookcase.
