Description

Our Varette is a slim LED bathroom mirror light: a straight bar with a white plastic diffuser, held on a square bracket in polished chrome. The body is aluminium with a chrome finish, and it measures 40cm long and 5cm high, standing 13cm out from the wall. The LED is integrated, so there is no separate bulb to fit, and it draws 7W to give 850 lumens. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it is at home in a bathroom, over the basin and the mirror.

Mount it over a bathroom mirror, a mirrored cabinet or a basin and it lights the spot where you shave, put on make-up or check your hair each morning. At 40cm long it suits a modest mirror or a cloakroom basin, and the polished chrome sits comfortably alongside chrome taps and towel rails. With three colour temperatures, you set the light to suit your room: 3000K for a warm white, 4000K for a neutral white, or 6500K for a crisp, cool white. It is installed by a qualified electrician, who will confirm the right zone in your bathroom.

You choose between the three colour temperatures at the light itself, and from then on it is controlled from your wall switch, as there is no switch on the light. It is not dimmable, so it belongs on a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and carries an energy class of E. Aluminium is a light metal, and the whole light weighs just 0.38KG packed, so it is easy to handle at the wall. The installation instructions are available to download, so your electrician can read them before the day of fitting.
