Description

The Varas is an 11-light LED bar pendant built around a rectangular matte black canopy measuring 61cm wide by 25cm deep, from which eleven vertical tubes descend at staggered heights. Six tubes are finished in glossy gold, five in matte black, each housing an integrated LED module behind an opal acrylic diffuser. The combined 55W 3000K output provides warm white ambient light that diffuses evenly through the opal material without glare.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls where a linear pendant suits the space better than a circular or globe fitting, the Varas works over surfaces 1.6-2m wide. The drop is adjustable from 50cm minimum to 140cm maximum on installation, allowing the pendant to be set 700-800mm above a table surface in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The staggered tube heights create visual rhythm along the length of the canopy without the regimented appearance of a row of identical pendants.

The mix of glossy gold and matte black finishes gives the Varas contrast without requiring additional decorative detail — the tubes themselves are simple cylinders, the interest comes from the alternating finishes and heights. At 8.2kg the fitting is substantial enough to feel anchored but fits standard UK ceiling roses without needing additional structural support. The dimmable LED modules respond to standard trailing-edge dimmers, allowing the light output to be reduced for evening dining or increased for task lighting during food preparation.

Yes. The integrated LED modules are compatible with standard trailing-edge dimmers. Dimmer performance varies by model, so testing with your specific dimmer before final installation is recommended.

What table size does it suit?

The 61cm canopy width works over dining tables or kitchen islands 1.6-2m wide. For longer tables, consider pairing two Varas pendants end-to-end or choosing a different fixture with a wider span.

Can the tube heights be adjusted individually?

No. The tube heights are fixed at manufacture. The staggered arrangement is pre-set, with the overall drop adjustable via the cable suspension from 50cm to 140cm.

What ceiling height is needed?

The pendant suits rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. At minimum drop (50cm) the tubes hang approximately 90cm below the ceiling, which typically places them 700-800mm above a table surface in a standard room.
