Description

The Valproto is a ceiling spotlight bar that carries four LED spots along a slim black steel bar, with a round canopy at its centre. Each spot sits in a cylindrical steel shade finished in dark bronze, so the black and the bronze pair up in a quiet, warm way. The bar is 55cm long, 5cm wide and 16cm high, and the LEDs are rated at 600lm. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

Because each head angles on its own, one bar does the work of several fittings: point two spots at a picture or a shelf and the other two across the room, or line all four along a kitchen worktop. It suits living rooms, kitchens, hallways, studies and bedrooms, anywhere a single central pendant leaves the corners dim. At 55cm long it sits comfortably over a sofa or a dining table without crowding a modest ceiling. The pairing of black and bronze works well with warm wood, leather and cream walls alike.

Both the body and the shades are steel, a material that holds its shape well over years of everyday use. There are three colour temperatures, chosen at the light itself, so you can settle on the white that suits the room. It runs on mains power at 220-240V, 50/60Hz, and as a wired-in ceiling light it is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download, and the packed weight is 1.288KG. Before you order, measure your ceiling: the bar needs 55cm of clear space along its length.

Frequently Asked

Can this spotlight bar go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs in dry rooms indoors such as living rooms, hallways and bedrooms, never in bathrooms or outdoors.

How bright is the Valproto spotlight bar?

The LEDs are rated at 600lm, and with four separate spots you can direct that light exactly where the room needs it most.

Can I change the colour of the light?

Yes. There are three colour temperatures, and you choose between them at the light itself, so the white light can match the room.

How big is the bar?

It is 55cm long, 5cm wide and 16cm high, so it sits neatly across a ceiling over a sofa or a dining table.

Do the spotlight heads move?

Yes, each cylindrical head angles on its own, so you can aim one spot at a shelf and another across the room.

What finish does the light have?

The bar and round canopy are black steel, and the four cylindrical shades are steel in a dark bronze colour that warms the black.
