Description
The Valmera is a 960mm vertical wall light cut from a single rectangular block of natural Spanish alabaster, mounted on a solid copper backplate finished in soft white. The column measures 80mm wide and projects 80mm from the wall, forming a tall, narrow line of stone that runs almost a metre top to bottom. An integrated 10W LED hidden behind the alabaster casts a continuous 3000K glow through the full height of the panel.
Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedrooms and dining rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Valmera works as either a single accent on a feature wall or as a pair flanking a bed, mirror or doorway. The vertical format suits narrow wall sections where a horizontal fitting would feel cramped, and the 80mm projection keeps it clear of circulation routes in halls and landings. Hard-wired to 230V mains via the rear backplate.
Each alabaster column is cut from a different section of stone, so the mineral veining, cloud-like striations and tonal variation between pale ivory and grey differ from piece to piece. When the LED is off, the alabaster reads as a solid pale stone with visible texture; when lit, it becomes translucent and the internal veining reveals itself across the height of the column. The soft white copper backplate sits flush against the wall and largely disappears once the fitting is illuminated.

Frequently Asked
Is the Valmera dimmable?
The integrated LED runs at 10W on 230V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model, so please contact us before pairing it with a dimmer to confirm.
How is it installed?
The Valmera is hard-wired to the 230V mains supply via the rear copper backplate, which screws to the wall over a standard recessed back box or surface cable feed. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Will the alabaster veining match between two pieces?
No. Each column is cut from a different section of natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, striations and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. When ordering a pair for either side of a bed or doorway, expect each one to carry its own pattern. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
