Description

The Valin is a long, low ottoman: a single upholstered pad, 120cm by 73.5cm, on a slim iron frame with four square legs and open floor underneath. The cover is a kilim woven on a handloom, with stepped diamonds in terracotta, rust and olive grey against a cream ground, and the frame carries an aged rust finish. The top is one continuous upholstered surface with no lid, no hinge and no opening, so there is no storage inside it.

At 43cm it sits below seat height, which puts it between two sofas as a low table rather than in front of one as a footstool. 120 by 73.5cm takes a tray and a stack of books together. It is rated to hold 100kg, so it will be sat on as well as stood on.

The cover is hemp woven as a kilim and the frame is iron. Every length off the handloom varies a little in pattern and in tone, so no two pads come out the same. The ottoman weighs 25.5kg. The Valin range also holds two glass fronted cabinets in charcoal.
