Description

The Valentina S/24 is a compact LED pendant light with a softly waved shade in Terracotta & White: terracotta over the top, white beneath, where the inside steps down in gentle tiers towards the light at its centre. The shade is 24cm across, and the fitting is made from aluminium and iron, with a white structure. Its light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 510 lumens from 6.5W at 2700K, a warm white, and with a CRI of 90 the colours of food, fabric and skin look true under it.

We would hang it over a dining table, on its own above a small table or in a line along a longer one, or in a living room above a side table or a reading corner. The drop can be set anywhere from 20cm to 200cm, so it can hang close over a table or sit up near the ceiling. It dims on a compatible dimmer (it is TRIAC dimmable), which lets you bring the light down for a slow supper or a quiet evening. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The design is by Alex Fernández Camps, and the shape does the work: a smooth, rounded top whose edge rises and falls in a soft wave over the pale, stepped underside. You can choose it with a Surface canopy or a Recessed canopy, and the canopy is 11cm across. It is a 230V mains fitting, wired in by an electrician, so a qualified electrician should install it. Pick the canopy that suits your ceiling when you order, and leave the rest to them.
