Description

The Valentina M/29 is a compact table lamp with a broad, wavy shade held up on a slim stem. The shade is terracotta on top and white beneath, where soft ridges follow the rippling line of its edge, and the structure is terracotta to match. It is made from aluminium and iron, and stands 29cm tall and 24cm wide. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change: it draws 6.5W and gives 587 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so colours look natural in its glow.

Its low height and wide shade make it a natural choice for a bedside table, where it gives a soft, warm light to read or wind down by, and for a side table, sideboard or shelf in a living room, where it adds a pool of light in the evening. It plugs in, on a cable given as 30cm and 150cm, so it is easy to place wherever there is a socket close by. It has an on/off switch on the fitting itself, so you can turn it on and off at the lamp rather than getting up to reach the wall. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The Valentina was designed by Alex Fernández Camps, and its two tones work together: the plain terracotta top reads as one calm curve, while the ridged white underside catches the light. The lamp is built from aluminium and iron, runs at 230V and is a Class II fitting. The LED is built in. It comes with a European plug, so you will need a UK adaptor to use it in a UK socket.
