Description
The Ukari counter stool stands 101cm to the top of its back on a slim iron frame: four legs splayed slightly outwards, a footrest bar across the front and stretchers linking the sides. The seat is a padded pad of buffalo leather, stitched across in two lines so that it reads as three panels, and the back is a second padded leather panel carried on two uprights. The iron is left dark and the leather is a deep, rich green.
The seat sits 70cm from the floor, which is counter height rather than bar height, so it belongs at a kitchen island, a peninsula or a breakfast bar with a worktop at about 90cm. The stool is 44cm wide and 52cm front to back, and the footrest bar sits forward where feet reach it rather than under the seat. At 8kg it lifts easily, and the seat slides in under a counter while the back stands above it.
The frame is iron and the upholstery is buffalo leather, made by hand and dyed with vegetable extract and tree bark, so the colour deepens with use rather than fading. The leather is a by-product. The Ukari range also holds dining chairs, and both the stool and the dining chair are made in aged tan, aged black, chocolate brown and this rich green.

Frequently Asked
How high is the seat?
70cm from the floor, which is counter height rather than bar height.
What is the leather?
Handmade buffalo leather, dyed with vegetable extract and tree bark.
Does it have a back?
Yes. A padded leather back panel on two iron uprights, reaching 101cm from the floor.
What other colours is it made in?
Aged tan, aged black and chocolate brown, alongside this rich green.
How do I look after it?
Wipe the leather clean with a soft, dry cloth and keep chemicals and household cleaners away from it. To stop the leather drying out and cracking, feed it with a specialist leather product, petroleum jelly or flax oil.
