Description

The Tronco is a low outdoor bollard that sits on the ground and spreads its light evenly around itself rather than throwing a single beam. Light passes out through a ribbed Pyrex glass diffuser wrapped around the head, with aluminium louvre elements inside that soften the source and cast a gentle, diffuse ring of light at ankle and knee height. Lit, it marks the edge of a path or a planted bed with a soft glow; unlit, it reads as a neat black cylinder on a round base.

This is the shorter 250mm bollard, low enough to line a border, a driveway edge or the run of a garden path in a row, or to flank steps and a doorway in pairs. The black body recedes against paving, planting and gravel in daylight, and the diffuse output lights the ground around it without a harsh pool or glare into the eye. It stands 250mm tall on a 155mm base.

The body is varnished die-cast aluminium with a Pyrex glass diffuser, built to stand outside all year and rated IP65 against dust and water jets. It takes one E27 bulb up to 42W, which is not included, so the brightness and warmth are yours to set: fit a 4000K lamp for a cool, clean light or a 2700-3000K bulb for a softer glow. It should be wired to a suitable outdoor supply by a qualified electrician.
