Tribis II Round GU10 Recessed Downlight - Black

The Tribis II is a round recessed downlight that takes a single GU10 lamp, giving a focused pool of warm 3000K light from a compact 82mm trim. Known in the US as a recessed can light, this version keeps a low 22mm depth so it sits neatly within a shallow ceiling void. It runs on standard 220-240V AC mains and accepts a GU10 LED of up to 10W, with the lamp itself setting the final brightness, beam spread and dimming behaviour. The Ra 80 colour rendering keeps everyday tones looking natural across walls, worktops and furnishings.

Indoor rooms such as hallways, landings, bedrooms and living areas suit this fitting well, where a run of recessed points gives even, glare-controlled ceiling light. It is an indoor-only fitting with an IP20 rating, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches and any damp or exposed position. Because the output depends on the GU10 lamp you choose, plan the spacing around the lamp's stated lumens and beam angle rather than a fixed coverage figure, allowing roughly equal gaps between each point for a balanced wash. For general rooms a wider-beam lamp softens shadowing, while a tighter beam picks out a feature or worktop.

The body is steel with a black finish, giving a tidy, low-profile trim once set into the ceiling. It mounts recessed into a ceiling cut-out, sitting flush against the surface for a clean line. The GU10 holder means no separate driver is involved; the lamp connects directly and any dimming is handled by the chosen LED and a compatible dimmer. Rated for around 25,000 hours of lamp life and supplied without a GU10 lamp, it gives you free choice of brightness and colour temperature. What size cut-out does it need?

The fitting has an overall trim diameter of 82mm, so it drops into a ceiling cut-out sized to suit that body. Always check the recommended hole size against your ceiling void and confirm there is enough depth above for the 22mm fitting plus the lamp.

Is a GU10 lamp included, and is it dimmable?

No lamp is supplied, so you can fit any GU10 LED up to 10W to set your own brightness and tone. Dimming depends entirely on the lamp you choose and a compatible dimmer switch, as the fitting itself simply holds the GU10.

Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. This downlight is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only, so it should not be installed in a bathroom, porch or any damp or exposed location. Choose a higher-rated fitting for those areas.

How do I clean the fitting?

Switch off the power and let the lamp cool, then wipe the black trim with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can mark the finish, and never let moisture reach the GU10 holder.
