Description

The Tria 04 is an outdoor wall light shaped like a river pebble: a flat, softly rounded triangle that sits just off the wall and washes light back onto it in a gentle halo. It comes in a Graphite Brown Metal finish, a deep, dark brown. Inside is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 11.5W and gives 690 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so stone, brick and planting keep their true colours after dark. It is 31cm tall and 28cm wide, and it projects 9cm from the wall on a 12cm back plate.

With its IP65 rating it is made for outdoor use, sealed against dust and protected against jets of water, so it can stay on an exposed wall all year. We like it beside a front door, along a garden wall, on a terrace or by a patio, anywhere you want soft light rather than glare. Because the light spills out from behind the pebble instead of straight forward, it lights the wall without dazzling anyone sitting nearby. A few fitted together in a loose group read like stones scattered across a wall. It is dimmable (TRIAC) with a compatible dimmer, so you can bring it down for a quiet evening outside.

The Tria 04 is designed by Ruben Saldaña. It is made from aluminium or Teka wood, and ours comes in the Graphite Brown Metal finish, a dark colour that sits against stone, brick or concrete. The integrated LED means there are no bulbs to fit, and the modest 11.5W draw makes it easy to leave on through a long summer evening. It runs on 230V mains power and is a Class I fitting, which means it is earthed. It is wired in to the mains by an electrician, so book a qualified electrician to install it.
