Description

The Tonezza is a round recessed LED downlight in white, with a black inner baffle that sets its faceted reflector back within the trim. The body is cast aluminium, the face measures 9cm in diameter, and the light comes from integrated LEDs at 3000K, a warm white, behind a clear glass shade. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, set neatly into the ceiling.

We would fit a run of these along a hallway or landing, or space them across a living room or bedroom ceiling, anywhere you want good overhead light without a pendant hanging into the room. The white trim sits quietly against a white ceiling, while the black baffle gives each light a crisp dark ring that looks sharp in a modern interior. At 9cm in diameter it is a small, tidy round, so it suits rooms where a larger fitting would crowd the ceiling. The warm 3000K tone is the one we would choose for the rooms where you relax in the evening.

Two spring clips hold the downlight in an 8cm cut-out, and the ceiling void needs a recess depth of 13cm. The light itself is 12cm tall and weighs 0.25KG, so it adds very little weight overhead. There is no switch on the fitting: it is switched at the wall. The LEDs are replaceable, so they can be renewed without taking out the whole downlight. As a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Before you order, check that your ceiling void gives you the full 13cm of depth.
