Description

The Tonezza 3 is a compact recessed LED downlight with a white cast aluminium body and a round white trim that sits neatly against the ceiling. It measures 9cm across and 8cm high, needs an 8cm hole cut into the ceiling and calls for 13cm of recess depth, so measure the space in the ceiling void first. The light source is an integrated LED behind a clear glass shade, giving a neutral white light at 4000K. The LED sits well back inside a faceted reflector, behind a narrow, rounded opening in the trim, so the eye catches the glow rather than the light source itself. No IP rating is given, so we recommend it for dry rooms indoors only.

That 4000K colour temperature gives a crisp, neutral white that keeps a room feeling bright and awake, which is why it suits a home office, a study, a hallway or a landing, anywhere you want clear light for reading, working and finding your way. A row of these across a ceiling gives a tidy, uncluttered look, because the white trim blends into a white ceiling and the body disappears into the void. The body is cast aluminium, and aluminium carries heat away well, which matters for an integrated LED; the black heatsink at the back does the same job. The LEDs are replaceable, so they can be changed without replacing the whole downlight. Two spring clips hold it firmly in the cut-out, and at 0.26KG it puts little load on the ceiling. Like any wired-in ceiling light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Wipe the white trim with a soft, dry cloth once the light is switched off and cool.
