The Tismora is an LED outdoor wall light with a white finish over a cast aluminium body, folded into sharp, faceted angles that give it a sculpted look by day as well as by night. An angled recess is cut into the top and another into the base, and each holds an integrated LED, so the light washes the wall upward and downward at once. It is 14cm long and 18cm high, and it stands 10.5cm proud of the wall. The two LEDs are rated at 2.5W each and give 230 lumens per light, in a warm 3000K white. With an IP44 rating it is protected from splashing water, so it lives outdoors on a house wall.

We would put a pair either side of a front door, where the up and down beams frame the entrance and light the step, or space several along a garden wall or the back of the house to pick out the brickwork, render or timber after dark. The crisp white body sits well against modern architecture and suits anyone who wants a clean, geometric shape rather than a traditional lantern. Because the LEDs are integrated, there is no bulb to choose or fit.

Cast aluminium does not rust, which matters for a light that lives outside all year. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so it is controlled from a wall switch, and it is not dimmable, so a standard switch is the right partner rather than a dimmer. It runs on 220 to 230V mains at 50 or 60Hz and carries an energy class of F. Packed, it weighs 1.16KG. As a wired mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download, so they can be read before the work is booked.
