Description

The Tessa Dome Table Lamp is a slim matt black lamp built around a small aluminium dome shade. A single upright iron stem rises from a flat disc base, turns over at the top in a smooth curve and holds the dome so it hangs just in front of the stem, throwing light down onto the table beneath it. It stands 47cm tall. The dome shade is 13cm tall and 11.5cm across, and the disc base is 16cm across, so it takes up very little room on a desk or bedside table. It takes one GU10 lamp, which is not included, so you choose the bulb and the colour of light that suits the room.

Its clean lines and plain matt finish sit happily in a modern or Scandinavian interior. We like it on a bedside table, where the dome directs light down onto a book rather than across the room. It also works on a hall console or a sideboard in the living room, and on a home office desk as a small task light alongside a ceiling fitting. It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry rooms only, and the 2m textile cable gives plenty of reach to a socket behind the furniture.

The structure is iron and the shade is aluminium, both finished in matt black. The cable is covered in textile, which looks neater on show than plain plastic flex. It is switched simply on and off rather than dimmed, so there is no dimmer to match, and it runs on 220-240V mains. It carries a 2 year guarantee. For styling, pair it with warm wood, pale linen or a stack of books so the black outline stands out, or set two either side of a bed for a tidy, matching look.
