Description

The Tedo Pro Lamp Holder is a compact GU10 lamp holder: a white socket set in a black collar, joined by a short, flexible black lead to a small black box on a silver metal bracket. It takes a single GU10 bulb, which is not included, so you choose the brightness and the colour of light that suit the room. It runs at 220-240V, 50/60Hz, an ordinary mains supply, and weighs a mere 0.06KG.

It belongs in a recessed ceiling light and needs a recess 11.5cm deep, so it pays to measure the space behind your ceiling carefully before you order. It makes a sensible spare or replacement where an old holder has worn or cracked, keeping a downlight working without changing the whole fitting. Because the socket is GU10, it accepts the familiar twist-and-lock bulbs that are easy to find, LED versions among them, and you can change the bulb later without touching anything else.

The white socket, the black collar and the black box are plain and practical, made to sit out of sight, and the silver metal bracket gives the box a rigid mount. As this part is wired into the mains, a qualified electrician installs it. Once it is fitted, pick a GU10 bulb in the brightness that suits your downlight, and simply twist the old bulb free and the new one home whenever it needs changing.
