Description
The Tear TR is a 1 metre surface-mounted track that runs straight off the 220-240V AC mains, giving you a powered rail along which lighting heads can be positioned and angled wherever the light is wanted. As track lighting it forms the supply spine rather than the light source itself, so the brightness and beam come from the heads you fit to it. American buyers will recognise this as a single-circuit mains track rail, the same principle behind the linear track systems used to line up directional spots across a room.
The Tear TR suits living rooms, kitchens, hallways and home studios where fixed downlights would be too rigid, letting you spotlight artwork, a worktop or a reading chair and then shift the emphasis later as the layout changes. Because the heads slide and lock anywhere along the rail, coverage is shaped by where you point them rather than by a single fixed footprint, making it well suited to picking out specific features or grazing a wall. Several 1 metre lengths can be combined where a longer run is needed across a wider space, keeping the directional flexibility along the whole line.
Built from aluminium alloy in a black finish, the Tear TR carries the live conductors internally and mounts directly to the ceiling surface, weighing 786g so it needs only standard fixings. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use, so keep it to interior ceilings and clear of bathrooms, porches or any damp or exposed location. The track accepts compatible heads that are clicked and twisted into the rail, letting the system be built up or rearranged over time. Other lengths and matching heads are available across the Tear range from our stock.

Frequently Asked
What is track lighting and how does this work?
Track lighting is a powered rail that you fix to the ceiling and then clip individual lighting heads onto. The Tear TR is a 1 metre mains track running at 220-240V AC, so each head draws its supply from the rail. You aim the heads independently to light different areas from a single connection point.
How is the Tear TR installed?
It mounts directly to the ceiling surface and connects to your 220-240V AC mains supply, so no recessing is needed. At only 786g it fixes with standard ceiling fixings. As mains wiring is involved, installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
What track does it fit and can I add or move heads later?
The Tear TR is a single-circuit mains track that accepts compatible Tear heads, which twist and lock into the rail. You can slide them along the length, add more or reposition them whenever your layout changes. This makes it easy to adapt the lighting without rewiring.
Can the Tear TR be used outdoors?
No. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, porches, carports and any damp or exposed location, and fit it only to interior ceilings.
