Description

The TEAR R-TR is a 2000 x 58 x 36 mm three-phase track that forms the backbone of a mains track lighting layout. It runs on a 220-240V AC supply and carries the conductors that feed compatible track heads along its length, letting several spotlights share one circuit. American buyers will recognise this as the rail in a track lighting system, the channel that individual heads clip into rather than a fitting in its own right. Finished in black, it keeps the run discreet against a dark ceiling.

Track works well in kitchens, open-plan living spaces, galleries and retail areas where the lighting needs to follow the layout rather than sit in fixed positions. Because the heads slide and lock anywhere along the 2 metre length, the throw is set by the heads you fit and where you place them, so a single run can wash a wall, pick out a worktop or aim across a display. Mount it to a flat ceiling or use it suspended, and plan the head spacing around the tasks below; two or more runs can be joined for longer or branched arrangements.

The body is aluminium alloy, rated IP20 for dry indoor use only and not suited to bathrooms, porches or any damp location. As a three-phase track it allows heads on the run to be split across separate circuits where the wiring supports it. No driver is supplied; the track is the conductor and each compatible LED head brings its own driver. The black finish matches the wider TEAR R-TR range, which includes connectors and matching heads to complete a run.

Frequently Asked

What is track lighting and how does this track work?

Track lighting is a system where a powered rail carries the supply and individual heads clip onto it wherever you want light. This TEAR R-TR is the 2 metre rail itself, feeding 220-240V AC to compatible heads along its length. You position and aim each head independently rather than wiring fixed points.

How do I install this track?

The track mounts to a flat ceiling or can be suspended, then wires into a 220-240V AC mains supply. As a three-phase track it should be fitted by a qualified electrician so the live conductors and any circuit splitting are connected correctly. Always isolate the supply before working on it.

Can I add or move heads as the layout changes?

Yes. Compatible track heads clip onto the rail and lock in place, and can be slid along the 2 metre run, repositioned or removed at any time. This makes it straightforward to adjust the lighting if the room layout or task areas change.

Does this track include a driver or heads?

No, the track is supplied on its own with no driver. It acts as the conductor only, and each compatible LED head you fit brings its own driver. Heads and connectors from the TEAR R-TR range are bought separately.
