Description
The Tavo is a round recessed LED downlight that draws 12W and gives 1250 lumens at a neutral 4000K colour temperature, with a wide 120 degree spread that washes the area beneath it evenly rather than spotlighting a single point. Running on 220-240V AC mains, it lights up at full output straight away with no warm-up. In US terms a fixture like this is the recessed can light most ceilings are wired for, here in a slim Ø145mm round form that sits close to the plasterboard.
Each light covers around 4 m² at general lighting levels, so a small bathroom, hallway or utility room is comfortably served by two or three units, while a kitchen or larger living area benefits from a closer grid to keep brightness consistent across the floor. The 120 degree beam suits standard ceiling heights of roughly 2.4 to 2.7 metres, where the broad angle stops shadowing under wall units and along worktops. The neutral 4000K tone reads as a clean white that works well in task areas and washrooms without feeling cold.
Built with a plastic body and a white finish, the Tavo carries an IP44/20 rating, which makes it splash-resistant and suitable for sheltered spots such as bathroom ceilings away from direct spray, porches and carports, though it is not intended for fully-exposed positions or direct water jets. It recesses into the ceiling through a cut-out and weighs just 110g, so it sits flush without strain on the plasterboard. The integrated LED is rated for 25,000 hours and the fitting is non-dimmable, running at a steady 1250 lumens. This downlight is part of the wider Tavo range, which Kanlux offers in matching sizes for a coordinated ceiling layout.

Frequently Asked
What size cut-out hole do I need?
The Tavo drops into a recessed cut-out in the ceiling, which is smaller than the overall Ø145mm trim that you see once it is fitted. Always check the supplied installation sheet for the exact cut-out diameter before drilling, as the visible trim slightly overlaps the hole to give a neat finish.
Can I use this downlight in a bathroom?
Yes, the IP44/20 rating means it is splash-resistant and suitable for bathroom ceilings positioned away from direct spray, as well as sheltered outdoor spots like a porch or carport. It should not be used in fully-exposed locations or anywhere exposed to direct water jets or submersion.
How many will I need for a room?
Each unit covers around 4 m² at general lighting levels, so a small bathroom or hallway is well served by two or three lights. For a kitchen or larger living space, space them in a closer grid to keep the 1250 lumen output even across the whole floor.
How do I clean the downlight?
Wipe the white trim with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth once the light is switched off and cool. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents on the plastic body, as these can dull the finish over time.
