Talia 5 Light G9 Linear Pendant Light 1.1m Drop - Polished Chrome

A slim chrome bar carries five clear glass shades in a straight line, each one holding a small silver mesh shade within. The effect is layered: the outer glass keeps the fitting light and open, while the mesh softens the glare from the capsule inside it. Cable suspensions let the bar sit high and tight to the ceiling or drop low over a surface, so you can set the height to the room rather than work around a fixed one. The bar runs to 1.1m.

A linear shape like this earns its place over a long surface: a kitchen island, a dining table, a run of worktop, or a hallway console where a lone pendant would look mean. We would reach for it in a room with a decent ceiling height, where the drop can be let out and the glass sits near eye level as you sit down. Each lamp holder takes a G9 capsule up to 10W, and dimming is possible if you fit dimmable lamps and pair them with a suitable dimmer, bought separately.

Polished chrome on the bar and the ceiling plate, clear glass for the outer shades and iron for the fine silver mesh inside them. Fingerprints show on bright chrome, so a dry microfibre cloth over the metalwork keeps it sharp; the glass comes up well with cleaner applied to the cloth rather than sprayed on. It carries a one year warranty. Keep it to indoor rooms; damp spots such as bathrooms and covered porches are not for it. How far down does it hang?

The drop is adjustable from 180mm at its shortest to 2180mm at its longest, so it can sit close under a low ceiling or hang well down over an island.

What lamps does it need?

Five G9 lamps, up to 10W each. We would fit LED G9 capsules. Lamps are not supplied with the fitting.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 lamps with a compatible dimmer. No dimmer is included.

What size table or island does it suit?

The bar is 1100mm long and 180mm wide, so it reads well over a table or island of roughly 1.2m or more, leaving a little clear at each end.

How do I clean the glass and the mesh shades?

Switch the light off and let everything go cold first. Dust the mesh with a soft brush, then wipe the clear glass with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight away to avoid water marks on the chrome.
