Description

Four clear glass shades sit in a square line across a polished chrome plate, and inside each one a small silver mesh shade softens the G9 capsule behind it. The mesh inside the glass gives the glow a little texture. The result is a fitting that reads as glass and light rather than metal, with the chrome catching whatever daylight the room already has. It sits close to the ceiling, so the shades stay clear of head height.

We reach for this where a pendant would hang too low: a landing, a small hall, a bedroom with a beam or a sloping run of ceiling. The lamps spread the light across a square footprint, which suits a compact kitchen or a dining spot better than a single central point. Lamps take up to 10W each, and we would fit LED capsules for warmth and low running cost. Dimming is possible if you choose dimmable lamps and pair them with a suitable dimmer.

Glass, mesh and a chromed metal frame make up the body, and the polished finish is best kept with a dry microfibre cloth, working the glass gently by hand once the lamps are cold. Fingermarks show on chrome, so a light wipe now and then does more good than an occasional heavy clean. It needs an earthed connection and is intended for dry rooms indoors. It carries a one year warranty. The range runs wider than this square: round flush versions, semi-flush versions, linear and round pendants, a single small pendant and a switched wall light all share the same chrome, mesh and clear glass. Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable G9 lamps and a dimmer matched to them. No dimmer is supplied.
