Talia 3 Light G9 Linear Pendant Light 65cm Drop - Polished Chrome

A slim polished chrome bar carries three clear glass shades in a straight line, and inside each one sits a smaller shade of silver iron mesh. Light from the G9 capsules passes through the mesh first and then the glass, so the centre glows softly while the edges pick up glints. The bar runs 65cm end to end and each glass shade is 12cm across, which keeps it compact for the width it covers. Chrome, clear glass and silver mesh read bright and cool together, and the scale suits rooms where a wide fitting would crowd things.

We reach for a linear pendant like this over a kitchen island, a run of worktop or a narrow dining table, where the light spreads along the length rather than pooling in one spot. The drop adjusts over a wide span, so it can hang low above a table or sit up nearer the ceiling in a hallway or above a console. Fit dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer if you want to take the level down for evenings, and we would choose LED capsules here for the sake of the running cost.

The shades are clear glass, the inner shades are iron in a silver finish, and the bar shares the polished chrome of the ceiling plate. Wipe the glass with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight away; the chrome asks for a dry duster and nothing gritty. It carries a one year warranty. How low can this hang over a table?

The drop is adjustable from 180mm at its shortest to 2180mm at its longest, so it can sit close to the ceiling or come down to table height.

What lamps does it take?

Three G9 lamps, up to 10W each. We would use LED capsules, and dimmable ones if the circuit has a dimmer.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, with dimmable lamps and a suitable dimmer. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.

What are the shade sizes?

The clear glass shades measure 120mm in diameter and 95mm high, with the silver mesh inner shades at 90mm across and 90mm high.

How do I clean the glass without marking the chrome?

Use a soft cloth and a little warm water on the glass, then dry it. Keep polish, scouring pads and solvents away from the chrome, which only needs dusting.

Will it suit a small kitchen?

Yes. At 650mm long and 120mm wide it takes up little visual room, and the body height is 130mm, so it stays neat above an island or a narrow table.
