Taja Recycled Glass Tumblers - Sea Blue - Set of 4

The Taja is a straight-sided tumbler in recycled glass, 9cm tall and 8cm across, and four come in a set. Fragments of coloured glass are dropped into the clear glass while it is molten, so the colour sits inside the wall rather than on the surface: flecks and streaks of cobalt and bottle green, crowded towards the base and thinning out near the rim. The rim itself is left gently uneven, and the wall is thick enough to give the glass weight in the hand.

At 9cm tall and 8cm across this is a water or juice glass rather than a wine glass, short enough to stand under a tap and wide enough to take ice. The pattern is held inside the glass rather than applied to the surface, so it cannot wear off with use. The colour reads strongest where the light comes up through the base.

The glass is recycled and mouth blown, and the coloured fragments are stirred through the clear glass while it runs, which is why the pattern flows rather than repeats. No two glasses in a set carry the same spread of blue and green, and every rim sits a little differently. Four come in a set.

Is recycled glass dishwasher safe?

Yes. Washing after every use stops staining. Use a mild detergent and do not leave them to soak.

How many glasses come in a set?

Four.

How big is each glass?

9cm tall and 8cm across.

Will the four match?

No. The coloured fragments run free in the glass, so the pattern differs on every one and the rims are left gently uneven.

Does the colour wear off?

No. The blue and green sit inside the wall of the glass rather than on its surface.
