Description

This T8 starter is a small replacement component used when fitting LED tubes into existing fluorescent batten and luminaire housings. Many legacy fluorescent fittings rely on a glow starter in series with the tube; when you swap a fluorescent T8 for an LED tube, that original starter is removed and this dummy starter is fitted in its place to bypass the old ignition circuit so the LED tube lights correctly. It does not produce any light itself, it simply completes the circuit for the new tube.

The body is moulded in white polycarbonate and measures Ø20 by 39 mm, matching the standard starter socket found in conventional T8 fittings, so it twists into place without rewiring. It suits single-ended and double-ended LED tube conversions where the fitting still has a starter holder. We also stock LED T8 tubes and complete LED battens for new installations and full fixture replacements.
