This is a 5m length of braided steel suspension cable used to hang pendant lights, chandeliers and other suspended ceiling fittings. The flexible multi-strand construction coils for storage and transport, then runs straight once tensioned by the weight of a fitting, giving a clean vertical drop from ceiling to luminaire.

The cable is intended as a replacement or extension wire for fittings supplied with shorter standard drops, or as a spare for installers working across rooms with varying ceiling heights. It can be cut to the exact length needed on site, allowing precise positioning of a pendant above a dining table, kitchen island or stairwell. Pair with a compatible cable gripper or ceiling rose mechanism appropriate to the fitting being suspended.

The braided steel construction gives the cable its load-bearing strength while keeping the diameter slim enough to read as a discreet line rather than a visible structural element. Yes. The cable is supplied at up to 5m and is intended to be cut on site to suit the required drop. Use a sharp cable cutter to avoid fraying the braided strands, and seat the cut end fully into the gripper or fixing mechanism.
