Spongano LED 2 Light Outdoor Wall Light 12cm - Black

The Spongano is a compact LED outdoor wall light: a crisp black rectangle that sends light both up and down the wall. The body is aluminium in a fine-textured black finish, with a clear plastic shade at each end. It measures 20cm high by 12cm across and stands 6cm out from the wall. Inside are two integrated LEDs of 5W each, giving 600 lumens per light. It is rated IP65, which means it is sealed against dust and protected from jets of water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall through rain and wind.

Because it washes light upwards and downwards, a single light frames a front door, a porch or a garage entrance, and a pair either side of a doorway gives a balanced, welcoming look after dark. Set along a garden wall or beside a patio, the up and down beams pick out the texture of render, brick or stone and give the outside of the house shape at night. The shallow 6cm projection keeps it out of the way on a narrow path or beside a side gate. The plain rectangular form suits modern homes as well as simpler, traditional fronts. It is a sensible choice for anyone who wants a good level of light by the door without a bulky lantern.

The light has no switch of its own: it is turned on and off from a wall switch. It is not dimmable, so it gives a steady, consistent output each evening. It runs on a 220-240V mains supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician. Aluminium is light and does not rust, which suits a fitting that spends its life outdoors. The fine-textured black finish keeps the box looking crisp against pale render or dark brick alike. Packed, it weighs 0.83KG. The LEDs are integrated, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace.
