Description
The SPN Bravo is a surface mounting frame sized for a 1200x300 LED panel. It carries no light of its own; instead it converts a panel built for recessing into a solid ceiling into a surface-fixed fitting, lifting the panel proud of the ceiling rather than dropping it into a void. The frame matches the 1200x300 nominal footprint exactly, so the panel sits squarely within it with the edges enclosed. Across the trade this part is known as a surface mounting kit or panel mounting box, and it is the standard answer wherever a slim panel needs to be fitted to a surface that cannot be cut into.
Use the frame on solid concrete, plasterboard or timber ceilings where there is no plenum or suspended grid above to receive a recessed panel. It is the right choice for rooms with shallow ceiling voids, refurbishment work over an existing finished ceiling, or any space where cutting a 1200x300 aperture is not practical. Because it is an accessory rather than a luminaire, it produces no light and has no coverage of its own; the spread comes entirely from the panel fitted inside it. Match the frame to the panel size before ordering, as a 1200x300 frame suits only a 1200x300 panel.
The frame is a lightweight unit at 166 g, designed to bolt together around the panel and fix back to the ceiling surface. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor use only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, porches and any damp or outdoor position. Installation is straightforward: the panel locates within the frame, the assembly is offered up to the ceiling and secured through the fixing points, and the panel's own driver connection is made as normal. We stock the matching 1200x300 panels and frames in other sizes across the SPN range.

Frequently Asked
What does this frame do?
It converts a recessed 1200x300 LED panel into a surface-mounted fitting. The panel sits inside the frame, which is then fixed to the ceiling, so you can mount a panel on a solid surface without cutting a recess for it.
Which panel size does it fit?
This frame is made for the 1200x300 panel and that size only. Always pair a frame with a panel of the same nominal dimensions, as it will not enclose a panel of a different footprint correctly.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. The frame is rated IP20, which is for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, porches, carports and any damp or outdoor location.
How is it installed?
The panel locates inside the frame, then the assembly is offered up to a solid concrete, plasterboard or timber ceiling and fixed through its mounting points. The panel's driver is connected as usual once the frame is secured.
