Description

The Spike is a small cylindrical spotlight that clips onto a three-phase track and casts a pool of light onto whatever it faces. The body is turned aluminium sitting on a low track adaptor, so it slides along the rail and stays wherever it is set. Lit, it gives a compact circle of accent light; unlit, the short black barrel sits quietly on the run, reading as a neat cylinder rather than a bulky head.

This is the black version, its powder-coated finish keeping the fitting low-key against a dark ceiling or rail so the light does the work. The body measures 110mm long, 145mm tall and projects 100mm from the track. At this compact size it is easy to run several along a rail, each throwing light on a separate spot, which makes it a straightforward way to accent shelving, artwork or a display without a heavy fitting overhead.

The Spike takes a single GX53 bulb up to 9W, and a bulb is included, so it arrives ready to light. Because the source is a replaceable bulb, the colour temperature and brightness follow whichever GX53 lamp is fitted, which lets you set the warmth to suit the room. It carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor rooms and needs a live three-phase track to seat on, which we can supply alongside with the feeds and connectors.

What kind of light does the Spike give?

A compact pool of accent light from a single GX53 bulb. Because the source is a replaceable lamp, the colour temperature and brightness depend on the GX53 bulb fitted, so you can set the warmth to suit the room. It clips onto a three-phase track and faces its light onto a shelf, wall or display.

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. A GX53 bulb up to 9W is included, so the Spike arrives ready to light. Because the lamp is replaceable, you can swap it later for a different output or colour temperature, or dim it if the bulb fitted allows.

Can it be dimmed?

That depends on the bulb. The Spike takes a standard GX53 lamp, so dimming follows whether a dimmable GX53 bulb and a compatible dimmer are used. We are happy to advise on lamps and switching before you order.

How big is it and where does it suit?

A compact turned-aluminium head 110mm long, 145mm tall and projecting 100mm from the rail. It suits shops, studios and halls that want simple accent light on a three-phase track, run singly or several along a run. Rated IP20, it is for dry indoor rooms.
