Description
The Spike is a small round ceiling light that sits flat to the ceiling and casts a soft, even beam straight down into the room. Its body is a shallow 100mm disc of aluminium standing only 86mm proud, so it reads as a neat button overhead rather than a bulky fitting. The output leaves through a satin opal polycarbonate diffuser, which spreads the beam and takes the glare off the source, so what reaches the floor below is a gentle wash rather than a hard spot.
This is the satin brass version, its warm metallic finish giving the disc a little more presence against a white or pale ceiling while the pool of brightness still does the work. At 100mm across it stays small enough to run in a group over a hallway, a landing or a kitchen, or to sit singly above a doorway, a shower room or a walk-in cupboard where a compact, low-profile fitting is wanted. The direct downward throw makes it a tidy way to lay general light across a small room or a stretch of ceiling.
The source is a built-in LED module drawing 10W for 1100 lumens at 3000K warm white, with a colour rendering index above 90 so tones stay true, and a 25,000 hour life, so no bulb is ever bought or replaced. It carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor rooms and runs at a fixed output on a standard on-off switch. We supply it ready to wire in.

Frequently Asked
What kind of light does the Spike give?
A soft, even downward beam. The integrated LED sits behind a satin opal polycarbonate diffuser that spreads the output and softens the source, so the room below gets a gentle 3000K warm white wash rather than a sharp spot. A colour rendering index above 90 keeps tones looking natural.
Does it need bulbs?
No. A built-in LED module giving 1100 lumens is fitted and included, so there is nothing separate to buy or replace. The module is rated for around 25,000 hours of normal use.
Can it be dimmed?
No. It runs at a fixed 3000K output on an ordinary on-off switch and is not dimmable. We are happy to advise on switching before you order.
How big is it and where does it suit?
It is a compact 100mm round disc standing 86mm from the ceiling. The satin brass finish suits a hallway, a landing, a small kitchen or a dressing room, worked singly or grouped across a run of ceiling. Rated IP20, it is for dry indoor rooms.
