Description
The Spiante is a solar wall light with an integrated motion sensor, made for the outside wall of a house. Its black plastic body rises from a flat wall plate and curves forward into a slim cantilevered head, with a white plastic diffuser underneath and a solar panel set into the top. It measures 14cm long and 14cm high, projects 14cm from the wall and weighs 0.47KG. The light comes from integrated LEDs giving 800 lumens at 4000K, a neutral white that shows a doorway, steps or a path clearly. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it lives outdoors on a house wall.
Because the panel charges from daylight, there is nothing to connect to the mains. That makes it a good choice beside a back door, along a patio wall, by a side passage or next to a garage. As general guidance, it does best in an open, sunny spot where the panel sees plenty of daylight. The sensor covers an angle of 120° and reaches 5m, so the light comes on as someone walks towards it and you are not hunting for keys in the dark. It suits a modern home with clean lines as well as a more traditional brick wall, since the dark body sits quietly by day.
The body and the diffuser are both plastic, which keeps the weight down on an outside wall. The battery is Li-ion, rated at 1200mAh, and the light runs at 3.7V. The sensor responds across a light level of 10 to 2000 lux. A small button marked with a power symbol sits on the wall plate above the round sensor. Wipe the panel now and then with a soft damp cloth so dust and leaves do not block the daylight it needs. The installation instructions are available as a download, so you can check the fixing before you start.

Frequently Asked
Can the Spiante go on an outside wall?
Yes. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall.
How does the motion sensor work?
The integrated sensor covers an angle of 120° and a range of 5m, and it responds across a light level of 10 to 2000 lux.
How bright is the light?
The integrated LEDs give 800 lumens at a colour temperature of 4000K, a neutral white that lights a doorway or a path clearly.
Where should the solar panel face?
The panel sits on top of the head and charges from daylight, so as general guidance it does best in an open, sunny spot away from heavy shade.
How big is the light?
It is 14cm long and 14cm high, projects 14cm from the wall and weighs 0.47KG, so it sits neatly beside a door.
