Description

This chrome plated butterfly plaque is a bright little keepsake for someone who matters, pairing an open-winged butterfly with a round silver disc printed with the words Special Friend. The wings are cut through in fine, curving lines, with tiny pink sparkling studs along their tips and two larger pink faceted settings in the lower wings that catch the light as you pass. The whole piece is metal with a polished silver chrome plating, and it measures 5.5cm high, 7.5cm wide and 3.2cm deep, so it sits comfortably in a small space without crowding a shelf.

We think it makes a thoughtful gift for a friend, whether you want to say thank you, mark how long you have known each other or simply let them know they are on your mind. Because it is so compact, it suits a bedside table, a dressing table or a desk at work, and it looks just as much at home on a windowsill, where the pink settings pick up the daylight. It is a lovely piece to tuck into a care parcel or hand over with a card, and the printed message means there is nothing more to add.

The butterfly rises on a short chrome post from a polished oval base, with the Special Friend disc standing upright at one end, so it stands on its own and needs no wall or hook. The chrome plating has a mirror-bright shine, so we suggest dusting it with a soft dry cloth and avoiding abrasive cleaners or polishes, which can dull the finish. Keep it somewhere it will not be knocked, as the fine wings are delicate. Set it beside a framed photo of the two of you, or give it on its own as a small, sparkling way to say a friendship counts.
