Description
The Sparx is a single-cable suspension kit built around a 2m steel cable fed through a matt black metal ceiling cup, designed to suspend pendant lights where the existing ceiling rose and cable drop are in the wrong position or where extra length is needed. The kit includes a chrome ceiling bracket, steel cable, screws, rawlplugs, and two allen keys for assembly and tensioning.
Used in residential dining rooms, commercial hospitality spaces, and retail installations where a pendant light needs to hang away from the ceiling rose position or where ceiling heights exceed the standard pendant cable drop. The cable passes through the ceiling cup and locks at the desired height using a grub screw tensioned with the included allen key, allowing the pendant to be positioned anywhere along the 2m run. The chrome ceiling bracket fixes to the structural ceiling or joist, and the cable hangs vertically or at a slight angle depending on the horizontal offset between bracket and pendant.
The steel cable is rated to carry the weight of a typical pendant light fitting (consult the pendant manufacturer's weight specification before installation). The matt black ceiling cup measures 98mm diameter with a 55mm projection from the ceiling, dimensioned to cover a standard UK ceiling rose while providing a clean termination point for the cable. The kit does not include electrical connection — the pendant's existing flex still runs to the original ceiling rose, and the steel cable provides only physical suspension support.

Frequently Asked
Does this carry the electrical cable as well?
No. The steel cable provides only physical suspension support for the pendant fitting. The pendant's electrical flex still runs to the original ceiling rose. The Sparx allows you to position the pendant away from the ceiling rose location while keeping the wiring in place.
What weight can the cable support?
The steel cable is rated to carry typical pendant light fittings. Check your pendant manufacturer's weight specification before installation and ensure the ceiling bracket is fixed into a solid joist or structural ceiling, not just plasterboard.
Can the cable be cut shorter?
Yes. The 2m cable can be cut to a shorter length if needed, though you will need cable cutters suitable for steel wire. The excess cable is typically coiled inside the ceiling cup after tensioning rather than being cut.
What's included in the kit?
The kit includes the matt black ceiling cup, chrome ceiling bracket, 2m steel cable, screws, rawlplugs, and two allen keys for assembly and cable tensioning. The pendant light itself is not included.
