Solara Outdoor Wall Light E27 - Brown Die-Cast Aluminium IP54

The Solara is a 330mm outdoor wall light with a curved powder-coated brown aluminium body housing twin transparent sandblasted tempered glass diffusers. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) casts light both upwards and downwards through the two glass panels, creating a balanced wash of light on exterior walls and the ground below.

Designed for exterior walls around entrances, porches, garages and garden pathways, the Solara carries an IP54 rating protecting the internal components from dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. The 80mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact enough for narrow passages and side entrances without protruding into walking paths. The brown powder-coated finish pairs with red brick, natural stone, timber cladding and terracotta-toned render.

The die-cast aluminium body provides structural rigidity and corrosion resistance in UK exterior conditions including coastal and high-humidity environments. The sandblasted tempered glass diffusers soften the light output and hide the bulb from direct view at eye level, reducing glare when approaching the fitting from the side. The E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or decorative filament bulbs up to the maximum wattage rating, allowing light temperature and brightness to be matched to the setting.

What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP54 indicates the fitting is protected against dust ingress (the '5') and water splashes from any direction (the '4'). The Solara can be installed on exterior walls exposed to rain, but should not be positioned where it will be subjected to direct high-pressure water jets or full submersion.

What bulb should I use?

The Solara takes a standard E27 bulb. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for exterior ambient lighting. Check the Specification table for the maximum wattage rating. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is the fitting dimmable?

The fixture itself supports dimming when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. The bulb must be rated as dimmable — not all LEDs support dimming.

How is the brown finish maintained?

The powder-coated aluminium can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or wire brushes which may scratch the coating. Coastal installations may benefit from occasional rinsing to remove salt deposits.
