Solar 2 Light Outdoor Wall Light - Grey

The Solar is a 2 light outdoor wall light built from grey powder-coated aluminium with transparent Pyrex glass diffusers at the top and bottom of a cylindrical body. Each diffuser houses one E27 bulb (sold separately), casting light both upwards and downwards to create ambient wash on exterior walls, entrance porches, garage frontages and garden pathways.

Designed for year-round outdoor installation, the fitting carries an IP54 rating to resist water ingress and dust penetration in UK weather conditions. The 310mm projection from the wall gives sufficient clearance to illuminate the vertical surface behind the light as well as the ground below, making the Solar useful for marking steps, doorways and pathways where directional light is needed after dark. The grey finish sits between lighter silvers and darker anthracites, pairing comfortably with contemporary render, painted brick, timber cladding and uPVC fascias.

The cylindrical form measures 110mm in length (height when wall-mounted) and projects 310mm from the wall surface. Each E27 socket accepts bulbs up to 60W equivalent, giving flexibility to choose warm whites for residential settings or cooler whites for commercial or industrial applications. The aluminium body is powder-coated for corrosion resistance, and the Pyrex glass diffusers are impact-resistant compared to standard soda-lime glass. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible wall dimmer on the circuit.

What bulbs does it take?

The Solar takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most outdoor installations use warm-white LED bulbs in the 7-10W range, equivalent to 60W halogen output. The fitting accepts bulbs up to 60W equivalent provided they fit within the cylindrical diffuser housing.

Is it suitable for coastal locations?

The IP54 rating protects against water splashes and dust, and the aluminium body is powder-coated for corrosion resistance. However, coastal salt spray accelerates wear on all outdoor metalwork. If you're installing in a coastal location, periodic cleaning with fresh water will extend the finish life.

Can it be fitted to brick or render?

Yes. The rear mounting plate fixes to masonry walls using wall plugs and screws (fixings not included). Ensure the wall surface is sound and the fixing points align with solid substrate rather than hollow sections of render or cladding.

Does the light direction adjust?

No. The Solar is a fixed up/down wall light. The two diffusers emit light vertically upwards and downwards only, with no swivel or tilt adjustment. This gives consistent wash lighting on the wall surface and ground below.
