Description

The Solar is a 2-light outdoor wall light built from brown-finished aluminium with transparent Pyrex glass diffusers at top and bottom. The cylindrical body mounts on a low-profile wall bracket and directs light both upwards and downwards through the two E27 sockets, creating dual-beam illumination against a wall or architectural surface.

Designed for exterior applications on garden walls, patios, porches and entrance areas, the Solar carries an IP54 rating against dust ingress and water spray from any direction. The brown powder-coat finish pairs with natural stone, brick and timber cladding in both contemporary and traditional outdoor settings. The 310mm projection from the wall gives the fitting enough depth to cast pronounced upward and downward beams without overwhelming smaller entrances or narrow pathways.

The aluminium construction resists corrosion in coastal and humid climates while keeping the overall weight manageable for standard masonry fixings. Each Pyrex diffuser is set into the top and base of the cylinder, protecting the bulbs from direct weather exposure while allowing full light transmission. The fitting accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to the maximum wattage (bulbs sold separately), and is dimmable when paired with compatible dimmer switches and dimmable bulbs.

IP54 protects against dust ingress (limited entry, not dust-tight) and water spray from any direction. This makes the Solar suitable for covered porches, under eaves, and open exterior walls that are not fully exposed to driving rain or direct hose-down.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Solar takes 2x E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for exterior accent lighting. Check the Specification tab for maximum wattage limits.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with compatible dimmable bulbs and a suitable outdoor-rated dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming but the final result depends on the bulb and dimmer combination.

How is it mounted?

The Solar mounts on a rear wall bracket using standard masonry fixings (screws and wall plugs). The 310mm projection from the wall means the fitting will stand proud of the surface, so check clearances if installing near doorways or narrow paths.
