Description
This SMD LED strip is a 5m flexible reel of spaced surface-mount diodes, giving a bright, even line of light along its length. It draws 9.6W per metre and puts out 1080 lumens per metre in a cool white 4000K tone, with a colour rendering of Ra 80. The strip runs on 12V DC, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is supplied separately rather than wired straight to the mains. In the US this is what most buyers know as LED tape or a light strip, and it is cut to length at the marked points so a run can be trimmed to fit.
Cut and shaped to the run, the strip suits under-cabinet lighting in a kitchen, cove and pelmet detailing, shelf and display edges, and accent lines behind a headboard or media unit. The flexible backing follows straight channels and gentle curves, and the cool white output reads as a clean, daylight-leaning light that works well for task areas and crisp display effects. With an IP00 rating this reel is for dry indoor use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches and any damp or outdoor position.
The diodes sit on a slim adhesive-backed flexible reel measuring 8mm wide, ready to press onto a clean, dry surface or seat into an aluminium profile for a tidier finish and better heat spread. Power comes from a separately specified 12V DC driver sized to the total length being run, and lengths are joined or trimmed only at the printed cut marks. Rated for around 15,000 hours, it is an unobtrusive way to add a continuous line of light. The wider range also includes higher-output and IP-rated coated versions for damp settings.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, not mains voltage, so it needs a 12V LED driver rated for the total length in use. The driver is supplied separately, so size it to the wattage of the run you install.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. The reel cuts only at the printed cut marks along its length, so you can trim it to suit your run. Cutting anywhere else will damage the circuit, so always cut on the marked points.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This version is rated IP00 for dry indoor use only, so it is not suitable for bathrooms, porches or any damp or outdoor location. For those settings choose a coated IP65 strip from the range instead.
How do I clean the strip?
Switch off at the driver and let the strip cool, then wipe the surface with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid soaking the strip or using solvents, and never let water sit on the contacts or cut points.
