Description
This SMD LED strip is a flexible reel carrying evenly spaced SMD diodes that form a bright, continuous line of warm white light. It draws 16W per metre and gives 1760 lumens per metre at 3000K, with a CRI of Ra 80 for honest colour. Often searched for as led tape or a light strip in the US, it runs on 24V DC rather than straight from the mains, so it pairs with a matching 24V LED driver (supplied separately). The reel measures 5 metres and can be cut to length at the marked points every 5cm, letting you tailor each run to the space.
Spaced across a 5 metre reel, the strip suits accent and task runs where a clean line of light is wanted: under kitchen cabinets, along shelving, inside cove and pelmet details, behind a headboard or to outline a stair line indoors. With 1760 lumens per metre it throws a strong, even wash along a surface rather than lighting a whole room, so think of it as layered or hidden lighting that grazes a wall or worktop. It is an IP00 strip, which means dry indoor use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches, gardens and any damp or outdoor position. For longer layouts, plan the driver capacity around the 16W-per-metre draw.
The diodes sit on a flexible PCB that bends around corners and follows curved profiles, and the strip cuts only at the 5cm interval marks so the circuit stays intact. Being a 24V DC strip, it needs a correctly rated 24V LED driver sized to the total length you install; it does not plug into a wall socket on its own. The rated life is 30,000 hours and the warm white 3000K tone is fixed. The wider SMD strip range from Kanlux includes matching drivers and aluminium profiles to mount and cool longer runs.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It is a 24V DC strip, so it must run from a matching 24V LED driver rather than directly from the mains. The driver is supplied separately, and you should size it to the total wattage of the run you install, calculated at 16W per metre.
Where can the strip be cut?
The reel can be cut to length only at the marked cut points, which fall every 5cm along the strip. Cutting at these marks keeps the circuit intact, so you can trim each section to fit a shelf, cabinet or cove run neatly.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, gardens, porches and any damp or wet position, and choose a coated IP65 strip if you need a damp or outdoor location.
How do I clean the strip?
Switch off at the driver and let it cool, then wipe the surface gently with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth. Avoid soaking it or using solvents, as the strip is unsealed at IP00 and the diodes should be kept away from moisture.
