Description
This SMD LED strip is a flexible 5m reel of spaced SMD diodes, giving a bright, even line of warm white light at 900 lumens per metre. Often sold across the market as LED tape or a light strip, it draws 11W per metre and runs on 12V DC, so it needs a matching LED driver rather than connecting straight to a mains socket. The 3000K warm white tone suits accent and feature lighting, and the high CRI Ra90 rendering keeps colours looking natural wherever the strip is used.
The reel works well under kitchen cabinets, along shelving, inside cove and pelmet recesses, behind headboards and around joinery, where the low-profile 8mm-wide tape tucks neatly out of sight and throws a continuous wash of light along the surface it lines. Because the rating is IP00, this strip is for dry indoor use only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor location. The 900 lumens per metre output gives a soft, glare-free grazing effect rather than broad room lighting, so plan the run by the length of the line you want to light rather than by floor area.
The strip can be cut to length at the marked points every 5cm, letting you tailor each run to the space without waste. It is supplied as a 5m reel and runs from a 12V DC LED driver, which is specified separately to suit the total wattage of the run you install. With a rated lifespan of around 30,000 hours and self-adhesive backing for quick fixing, it is a practical choice for layered indoor lighting. The wider SMD LED Strip range includes other outputs and tones if you need to match several runs.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, not mains voltage, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is specified separately to suit the length of the run you install. Size the driver to cover the total wattage, allowing 11W for every metre of strip used.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. It can be cut at the marked cut points every 5cm, so you can trim each run to fit the space exactly. Only cut at these marked points to keep the circuit intact, and any unused offcuts can be wired into separate runs.
Can this strip be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. With an IP00 rating it is for dry indoor use only and offers no protection against moisture or dust. Keep it clear of bathrooms, kitchens splash zones, damp areas and any outdoor location, and choose an IP65 coated strip for those settings instead.
What colour and brightness does it give?
It produces a warm white 3000K tone at 900 lumens per metre, with high CRI Ra90 colour rendering for natural-looking results. This makes it well suited to accent runs under cabinets, along shelving and in cove or pelmet recesses where a soft, even line of light is wanted.
