Description
This SMD LED strip is a flexible reel of spaced SMD diodes that puts out 11W and 900 lumens per metre in a crisp 4000K cool white, with a high Ra90 colour rendering for accurate, natural-looking tones. Sold as a 5m reel, it is what many shoppers call LED tape or a light strip, giving a low-profile line of light that bends around corners and tucks into shallow channels. The strip runs on 12V DC, so it pairs with a matching 12V LED driver rather than connecting to the mains directly.
It works well for indoor accent and task runs such as under kitchen cabinets, along shelf edges, inside display cabinets and within cove or pelmet detailing. Because the light comes from a continuous spaced run rather than a single point, it washes a surface evenly rather than throwing a focused beam, which suits gentle backlighting and edge-grazing more than lighting a whole room. Mount it on a clean, dry surface and keep the run within the driver's rated load; longer layouts can be split across more than one driver. With an IP00 rating it is for dry indoor positions only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor location.
The reel can be cut to length every 5cm at the marked cut points, letting you size each run to the space without waste. It is supplied on a 5m reel, weighs around 50g and carries a rated lifespan of 30,000 hours. The 12V DC driver is specified separately so you can match it to the total wattage of your run. We also stock coated IP65 strip and matching profiles and connectors elsewhere in the range for tidier installs.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it must be powered through a 12V LED driver rather than wired straight to the mains. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run, allowing 11W for every metre of strip you connect.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. It can be cut every 5cm at the marked cut points along the reel, so you can trim each run to fit the space exactly. Always cut on the marked line and never between cut points.
Is this strip suitable for outdoor or bathroom use?
No. With an IP00 rating it is designed for dry indoor positions only. Keep it out of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor location, and choose a coated IP65 strip for those settings instead.
How do I clean the strip once it is installed?
Switch it off and let it cool, then wipe the surface gently with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth. Avoid solvents and do not soak it, as moisture can damage an uncoated IP00 strip.
