Description
Our Smart Clear LED GLS Bulb is a classic pear-shaped bulb in clear glass, with a silver-toned E27 screw cap and slim upright LED filaments on full view through the glass. Look closely and you will see two filaments in a warm amber tone and two paler ones beside them. It draws 8W and gives 1,055lm, a bright and generous output from a modest wattage, and it carries an energy class of E. As a smart bulb it is controlled by app, it is dimmable and its colour temperature is adjustable, so a single bulb covers a bright working light and a low evening glow.
Because the glass is clear, this GLS bulb is at its best wherever it is on show: an open pendant, a bare cage shade, a wall light without a diffuser or a table lamp with an open top. Any fitting that takes an E27 cap is a candidate, and that covers a great many pendants and lamps around the home. The adjustable colour temperature is the real gain. A cooler tone keeps a kitchen worktop or a desk crisp and clear during the day, while a warmer tone settles a living room or a bedroom once evening comes. For anyone building up smart home lighting one room at a time, it is an easy place to start.
Day to day, the app is how you control it, and you can dim it whenever full brightness is more than a room needs. It also works with a remote control, which is sold separately and does not come in the box with the bulb. The standard E27 screw cap means it simply screws into place in an existing E27 lampholder, with no new fitting required. Before ordering, check that your fitting takes an E27 cap and suits a clear bulb, since the filaments stay visible whenever it is lit.
