Description

The Slend 01 is a slim pendant light in aluminium and iron. Its long tapering body runs from a fine stem at the top to a fuller, waisted shape near the base. It is 65cm long and 7.5cm across at the shade, so it hangs as a narrow line of colour rather than a wide bowl. It takes one GU10 bulb of up to 8W, which provides the light and is sold separately, so you will need to buy one before it goes up. We sell it in a choice of textured finishes: Textured White, Textured Black, Textured Pebble Grey, Textured Olive Grey, Textured Terracotta, Textured Grey Blue and Textured Sand Yellow.

Its narrow profile suits a dining room, hung over the table, and a living room, where it can drop beside a sofa or over a side table without crowding the space. It hangs at a drop of 80cm to 200cm, so it can sit low over a dining table or higher where the ceiling is tall. The canopy is only 8cm across, so very little shows on the ceiling. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The darker finishes, Textured Black and Textured Olive Grey, draw a clear line against pale walls, while Textured White and Textured Sand Yellow sit more quietly in a light room.

The body is made from aluminium and iron with a textured finish, and the fitting is Class II. It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician, so plan for that visit. The design is by Christophe Mathieu, who gave the Slend its long, tapering outline. Before you order, measure from the ceiling to the table or floor so you know where the light should sit within its 80cm to 200cm drop. Our photographs show the textured black version.
