Description

This cheerful soap dispenser takes the shape of a little elf sitting with his arms raised, made in glazed ceramic with a silver pump on top. He wears a bright green suit dotted with raised stars, a red belt with a yellow buckle, a red pointed collar and a red and green hat with a zigzag brim, with black mittens and black boots finishing the outfit. His rosy cheeks, brown hair and small smile give him a friendly face from the front, and the stars carry on round the back, so he looks just as cheerful from every side. He stands 20cm tall and 11cm wide and deep, a compact size that sits comfortably beside a basin without taking over the space.

We think he earns his place by the bathroom basin or the kitchen sink through the Christmas season, swapping a plain bottle of hand wash for something with a bit of festive spirit. Fill him with your favourite liquid soap or hand wash and guests get a smile every time they wash their hands. He also makes a cheerful Christmas gift for anyone who likes to dress the whole house for December, not just the tree and the mantelpiece, and he suits a family bathroom, a cloakroom or a guest loo equally well.

The body is ceramic with a glossy glaze that brings out the bright green and red, and the seated pose gives him a broad, steady base on a flat surface. The silver pump sits on top of his hat, with a long spout that reaches out over your hand. To keep him looking his best, wipe the outside with a soft damp cloth and dry it, taking care with the raised stars and the edges of his boots. Wrap him carefully when the decorations come down, and he will be ready to bring a grin back to the sink next December.
