Description
The SIMEN DSL W/G/W is a recessed LED spotlight frame built around a round Ø75 mm aperture that drops flush into the ceiling. It accepts a single MR16 or PAR16 lamp through its Gx5.3/GU10 cap, taking up to 10W, and runs on either 12V AC/DC via a transformer or directly on 220-240V AC depending on the lamp fitted. As a directional fitting its job is to throw a focused pool of light rather than wash a whole room, so coverage depends on the beam of the lamp you pair with it. US buyers will recognise this format as a recessed can-style trim taking a standard reflector lamp.
The SIMEN DSL suits accent and task duties indoors, picking out a worktop, a piece of artwork or a reading corner where a tight, aimed beam works better than broad ambient light. Several units spaced along a hallway or living-room ceiling build a run of overlapping spots, with the throw and spread set by the MR16/PAR16 lamp chosen. Because it carries an IP20 rating it is for dry interior rooms only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches and any damp or outdoor location.
The frame is made from aluminium alloy in a gold and white finish, weighing 80 g, and measures Ø75 × 42 mm so it sits within a modest ceiling void. It mounts recessed, dropping into a ceiling cut-out and held by spring clips behind the trim. The Gx5.3/GU10 holder lets you run low-voltage 12V lamps through a driver or mains-voltage GU10 lamps direct, and dimming follows whatever lamp and supply you specify. The SIMEN range includes matching round recessed frames in other finish combinations to suit different schemes.

Frequently Asked
Is the lamp included with this fitting?
No, the SIMEN DSL is supplied as a recessed frame only with a Gx5.3/GU10 holder. You add your own MR16 or PAR16 lamp rated up to 10W to suit the beam angle and colour temperature you want.
Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. With an IP20 rating it is rated for dry indoor use only, so it should not be fitted in bathrooms, porches, carports or any exposed or damp location. Choose an IP65 fitting for those areas instead.
What beam angle does it give?
The beam comes from the MR16 or PAR16 lamp you fit rather than the frame itself, so the spread is whatever the chosen lamp provides. Narrow lamps give a tight accent beam while wider ones cover a broader area.
How do I clean it?
Switch off and let the lamp cool, then wipe the trim with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners on the aluminium finish, and keep moisture away from the lamp holder.
