Description
The Silvessa is a compact outdoor wall light: a black steel cylinder set on a square backplate, with the light shining straight down from a lens at its base. It stands 11.5cm high, is 6.5cm long and projects 9.5cm from the wall, so it sits close and neat beside a door rather than jutting into a path. It takes a GU10 bulb, gives 250 lumens at 3000K, a warm light, and carries an IP44 rating. That rating means it is protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall.
We would put it beside a front door, on a porch, along a side passage or on a garage wall. Because the light points down, it puts a soft pool on the step and washes the wall beneath it rather than shining into the eyes of visitors. The warm white sits well against brick, render and timber, and the plain black cylinder looks at home on a modern build or an older cottage. Fit two either side of a doorway for a tidy, balanced pair that greets guests after dark.
The body is steel, a strong material that holds its shape, finished in black, and the light weighs 0.38KG. There is no switch on the light itself, so you control it from a switch at the wall. It runs on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains supply and, as a wired-in light, is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download, so your electrician can read them before fitting day. GU10 bulbs are widely sold and simple to change, which keeps this little light easy to maintain.
