Description

The Siam 200 is a ceiling light on a grand scale: a wide, shallow cone of pleated Cream Translucent Ribbon, 200cm across, tapering to a white disc at its centre. The ribbon is gathered in fine radiating pleats, so when it is lit the whole shade glows a warm cream while the centre shines white below. It is 72cm high overall, on a 37cm stem, with a White structure holding the shade. It takes eight E27 bulbs of up to 15W each, and they are sold separately: they are its light source, so have all eight ready before it goes up.

At this size it wants room around it: a large living room, an open-plan dining space, a main bedroom under a generous ceiling, or a hotel room or lounge where one large fitting can be the centrepiece of the ceiling, giving a gentle glow from above. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is made for indoor use. We offer it in two structure options, Big Structure and Small Structure, and you choose between them when you order.

The structure is made from iron and stainless steel, finished in White, and carries the Cream Translucent Ribbon in its fine radiating folds. The fitting runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician; as a Class I fitting it needs an earthed supply. Because it uses standard E27 bulbs, you decide the warmth of the light through the bulbs you choose, keeping each one to 15W or less, and replacing one later is straightforward. One practical point before you order: at 200cm across and 72cm high, it needs a large ceiling, so measure your room first and allow space around the shade.
