Description

The Knightsbridge shaver adaptor converts a standard UK 13A socket into a 2-pin shaver outlet with built-in 1A fused protection. It accepts 2-pin plugs from electric shavers, toothbrushes and other low-current bathroom appliances rated up to 240W on the UK 230V 50Hz mains.

Designed for bathrooms, en-suites and hotel rooms where a dedicated shaver socket is not installed, the adaptor plugs into any standard UK wall socket and provides an alternative to permanent wiring changes. The internal 1A fuse protects against overload and short circuits, and can be replaced if it blows. The white ABS construction resists moisture and cleaning chemicals better than bare metal adaptors.

Certified to BS 1363, the adaptor measures 52mm high, 50mm wide and 46mm deep with a 23mm projection from the wall once plugged in. The compact footprint allows the adaptor to sit close to the wall without blocking adjacent sockets in a double outlet. The IP20 rating confirms it is suitable for indoor use in dry areas and Zone 3 bathroom locations (outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure).

The adaptor is designed for 2-pin appliances rated up to 1A at 230V, typically electric shavers and toothbrushes. The 1A fuse protects against overload, so appliances drawing more than 240W will blow the fuse and require replacement.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

Yes, but with restrictions. The IP20 rating means it is suitable for Zone 3 bathroom locations (outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure, typically more than 600mm from the edge of a basin or bath). It should not be installed within arm's reach of a shower or bath.

Is the fuse replaceable?

Yes. The internal 1A fuse can be replaced if it blows. Replacement 1A fuses are available from most hardware and electrical retailers.
