Description
Our Sgraffito Wide Vase brings hand-worked character to any shelf or table. The rounded earthenware body swells out from a narrow base before tapering again at the mouth, giving it a full, generous profile that holds its own as a piece on its own or as a home for dried stems and blooms. Every surface is carved with rows of short vertical marks, revealing a pale clay tone beneath the dark glaze for a two-tone effect that catches the light.
The sgraffito technique, where the top layer is scratched away to expose the clay underneath, gives each vase its own slightly varied pattern. The deep black finish carries a soft sheen across the raised ridges while the incised lines stay matte, creating contrast and depth. Its earthy, tribal-inspired look sits well with natural materials, warm woods and neutral textiles.
Measuring 200mm across and 200mm tall, it works as a centrepiece on a dining table, a fireside accent or a grounding shape on open shelving. Use it dry with grasses and pampas, or line it for fresh stems. Made from earthenware, it has a reassuring weight that keeps taller arrangements stable.

Frequently Asked
What is the sgraffito technique?
Sgraffito involves scratching through a dark top layer to reveal the paler clay beneath, which creates the two-tone carved pattern you see across the vase.
Is this vase waterproof for fresh flowers?
Earthenware can be porous, so we recommend using a liner or a small inner container if you plan to hold water for fresh stems. It is ideal for dried arrangements as it is.
How do I clean it?
Wipe gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking or harsh cleaners, as the carved surface can trap moisture.
How big is the vase?
It measures 200mm wide, 200mm deep and 200mm tall, giving it a rounded, full shape suited to shelves, tables and mantels.
What decor does it suit?
Its earthy black finish and textured pattern pair well with natural woods, rattan, linen and neutral tones for a rustic or organic look.
