Description

Our Sgraffito Footed Tray brings a hand-worked, tactile quality to any tabletop. The shallow earthenware dish is raised on four short cylindrical feet, lifting it just enough to give a sculptural presence on a coffee table, sideboard or shelf. The dark charcoal-black glaze carries a subtle mottling across the surface, so no two pieces look exactly the same.

The face of the tray is decorated using the sgraffito technique, where the surface layer is scratched away to reveal a lighter tone beneath. Here it forms concentric rings and a fine dashed pattern radiating from the centre, catching the light and adding depth to the matte finish. At 410mm across, it holds plenty: think trailing keys and candles in a hallway, fruit in the kitchen, or a considered arrangement of objects in the living room.

Made from earthenware, it has a solid, grounded weight that suits organic and contemporary interiors alike. Use it as a catch-all, a centrepiece or a low display for pillar candles and dried stems. The earthy, muted colouring pairs easily with wood, stone and natural textiles.

Frequently Asked

What is the tray made from?

It is made from earthenware, giving it a solid, weighty feel and a naturally textured surface.

How should I clean it?

Wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking or abrasive cleaners, which can dull the glaze.

Is it food safe?

It is intended as a decorative tray rather than tableware, so we recommend using it for display, dried items or wrapped goods rather than direct contact with food.

How big is the tray?

It measures 410mm in diameter and stands 110mm tall on its four short feet.

Where does the pattern come from?

The concentric ring design is created using the sgraffito technique, where the top layer is scratched away by hand to reveal a lighter tone underneath.
